Isha Home School is located amidst the tranquil surroundings of the Velliangiri Mountains near Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. Founded in 2005 by Sadhguru, the school strives to incorporate his educational approach into its day-to-day teaching process. The quintessential Home School has children aged 7-9 in the Junior School and those aged 10-13 in the Middle School, all of whom live and learn in the same space. The best aspects of ‘home’ and ‘school’ seamlessly blend to provide a nourishing space for learning. Each home is cared for by house-parents and teachers. This multi-age environment ensures a sibling atmosphere where students learn, not only from their teachers, but also from one another as well. The school has contemporary, up-to-date amenities that provide a safe and secure living environment. The living quarters have an open design with separate dormitory area for boys and girls.

Physical education is one of the central activities at Isha Home School and is delivered by a team of dedicated teachers. Students participate in daily morning jogging, and in athletics and evening team games
1234 Previous Next Periscope, the school’s annual academic and cultural festival, offers students an opportunity to unleash their creativity. Students participate in the planning, organizing, and execution of the event.
Students participate in community development, environmental, and ecological programs within the school, in the surrounding community, and in larger initiatives of the Isha Foundation.
Healthcare is provided on site by a team of two experienced pediatric doctors and a team of nurses. The healthcare unit comprises a 12 bedded unit. Majority of the medical needs of the children are met within the school.
Education to the poor children in the spirit of the charism
The library lies at the heart of the Senior School Learning Center and consists of a three story facility with a spacious, well ventilated reading environment. The library maintains over 40,000 books and multimedia resources which are available to both students and staff. Students are actively encouraged to use the library for independent study and research.
Tarana, the school’s over 7,500 sq feet auditorium-cum-multipurpose hall, is used for a variety of school activities, which includes but is not limited to dramatics and musical performances, assemblies and guest lectures, movie screenings, workshops and special dinners.
Sports facilities include a 400 metre athletics track encompassing a football ground and cricket pitch, and separate courts for volleyball, throw ball, kho kho and kabaddi. Two clay tennis courts and a fully equipped gymnasium are in progress. There is an indoor table tennis room. The ancient Indian martial art Kalaripayattu is taught within a purpose built facility spread over a 10,000 sq feet area called the Veerabhadra Akhada.
